What exactly is the difference between a PWA and a regular website?
A PWA is a website 'on steroids'. Thanks to additional technologies (Service Worker, Manifest), it gains app-like features: installability, offline operation, push notifications, access to some device features.
What are the benefits of PWA compared to native apps (iOS/Android)?
PWA offers: one codebase for multiple platforms (lower cost), no need to download from a store (accessible via browser), always the latest version, indexable by search engines. However, native apps still have deeper access to hardware and system features.
Does PWA work well on iPhone / iOS?
PWA support on iOS is available but has some limitations compared to Android or desktop. You can add a PWA to the home screen, the Service Worker works (with limits), but e.g., push notifications for PWAs are not currently (as of April 2025) fully supported by Apple in Safari.
Can any website be converted into a PWA?
Technically, a Manifest and Service Worker can be added to any site. However, for a PWA to be truly useful (especially offline), the site should have a suitable architecture (e.g., SPA - Single Page Application) and be served over HTTPS. We are happy to assess the possibilities for your site.
